Sips and Sounds Summer Festival

The summer season is bringing plenty of live music events including shows all around the city. However, one music event that you do not want to miss is the Sips and Sounds Summer Festival. This annual event takes place over at the Circuit of the Americas for a spectacular two day event like no other. What makes the Sips and Sounds Summer Festival so cool is that it will not break the bank for going! Music festivals have seen a huge increase in cost and ticket prices making them harder to get to than ever. However, with the Sips and Sounds Summer Festival you can go for as little as $25 per day!
Tickets are still available allowing you the chance to plan your trip around it. The festival starts on Saturday June 29th with headliners including Kelsea Ballerini, Marcus King, and Paul Cauthen. The fun continues on Sunday June 30th where Jon Pardi, Maren Morries, Charles Wesley Godwin, and more take the stage. Live Musical Shows
If festival vibes are not calling out to you this summer you can still easily catch a concert right here in Austin during the month of June. There are plenty of shows coming up on the schedule that are sure to win you over. Alternative rock fans will be in a frenzy to know that The Pixies will be headlining a show on June 26th over at Germania Insurance Amphitheater. The Pixies have been a mainstay in the alternative rock and grunge music scenes with plenty of hits you are sure to hear live. Even better, Modest Mouse will be opening up for the show with their hit “Float On” along with many other incredible songs. The show starts at 6:00 PM with tickets still available for purchase. Additional concerts on the lineup for June also include The Convalescence on June 18th over at Come and Take It Live and Say Anything taking the stage on June 28th over at Stubb’s Bar-B-Q. Juneteenth Park Festival
Come experience a celebration of freedom by joining in the festivities at the Juneteenth Park Festival this year. This local festival will take place on June 15th over at Rosewood Park. This festival is presented by the Greater Easter Austin Youth Association to commemorate the end of slavery. This is the oldest known African American celebration in the city of Austin and is a free event for all to attend. The festival will showcase a parade complete with decorated floats and live entertainment. When the parade comes to an end at Rosewood Park you can expect a celebration complete with local vendors and delicious food to enjoy. This year’s Juneteenth Park Festival is scheduled to take place on June 15th from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
The Drop In
Nothing is as great as something being free and you will find just that when you enjoy The Drop In taking place at the Long Center Lawn all summer long. During the month of June, you will find weekly outdoor concerts with a different artist each week taking the stage. Bring a picnic blanket and some snacks to munch on as you get to hear the incredible sounds of live music take the center.
