ABC Kite Fest
Do you ever get that feeling on a windy day that you wish you were at the park with a kite in hand? If so, the ABC Kite Fest is perfect for you! This is the country’s oldest kite festival (going 97 years strong!) where hundreds of kites will be flown high in the sky above Zilker Park. This absolutely free event is returning once again to Austin this April for a family friendly experience. Guests will be encouraged to bring their kite or make one at the craft booth. This year’s ABC Kite Fest is scheduled to take place on April 5th so don’t miss out on the fun.
Capitol 10K
If you are the kind of traveler who prefers to maintain their runs while visiting new places you will want to sign up for the Capitol 10K. This local event has been running since 1978 here in Austin and is now the largest 10K race in Texas and the 6th largest in the country. Thousands of runners are expected to lineup at the starting line for this incredible race. The Capitol 10K race also offers plenty of fun for those watching you at the finish line with food vendors, free massages, adult beverages, and a kids’ zone. The Capitol 10K benefits The Kindness Campaign to support emotional heath curriculum for children and adults. Registration is now open for this exciting race that further helps our community here in Austin. The Capitol 10K will take place on April 6th.
Moontower Comedy Festival
If you are in the mood for quite a few laughs during your trip to Austin this spring make sure you catch the Moontower Comedy Festival taking place here in the city. The Moontower Comedy Festival is a week and a half of hilarious comedians taking the stage at a variety of venues found all over Austin. You will be holding your side in laughter as comedian after comedian takes the stage. This year’s lineup will include some amazing talent with favorite comedians such as Paul Shore, Morgan Jay, Aziz Ansari, Hank Azaria and the EZ Street Band, and many more. Each big name performance will be held at amazing venues in Austin such as ACL Live at the Moody Theater, Bass Concert Hall, and Paramount Theatre. The big name acts are not the only comedians taking part in the festival either. You can see up and coming and local talent hit the stage for smaller performances at local clubs.
