Epicurean Austin Journey

Enjoy something lighter with a salad or try the meatloaf sandwich or a beyond veggie burger. Day 2:

Breakfast: Bouldin Creek Cafe

Breakfast anytime! If you’re gluten-free, vegan, or vegetarian, this is your breakfast spot. Gluten-free options include golden oats, a sunrise granola bowl – topped with vegan cinnamon-maple yogurt sauce, or the “Kick Azz Granola” featuring house made granola and milk. There are a variety of omelets and an array of other dishes that have gluten-free options, too. For those who may not stick to a specific diet, there are bagels, muffins, oven cake, and more. Add sides like toast, tortillas, fresh fruit, granola, and a variety of other options.

Lunch: Cypress Grill

Their motto is “Taste New Orleans,” and you’ll do just that when you order seafood gumbo, crawfish egg rolls, our Boudin balls for an appetizer. Enjoy Cajun dishes like crawfish etouffee, jambalaya, catfish, oysters, or a shrimp platter. Choose from a variety of Po’Boys and sandwiches. If you’re looking for lunch-size portions, they’re weekday lunch specials include chicken atchafalaya, blackened tilapia, petite jambalaya, or a lunch-sized Po’Boy, and many others.

Dinner: La Barbeque Austin

Start with the meat and choose from brisket, pork ribs, pulled pork, or turkey. Enjoy it separately or as a sandwich, like the la Frito Loco – a mix of pulled pork, chopped beef, chipotle slaw, beans, Frito chips, cheese, and jalapenos. Add on traditional BBQ sides for a full a meal.

Day 3:

Breakfast: Magnolia Café

Order your breakfast by the numbers. Omelettes have a name and a number. A #1 gets you a basic cheese omelette, while ordering the #15 gets you the “Popeye” – steamed spinach, red onion, bacon, cheese, and sour cream. Order a bagel or croissant, or a breakfast taco with all the fixings. Stop in for pancakes to get your day off on the right foot. Choose from traditional buttermilk pancakes, or try something a little different with gingerbread pancakes, or even jalapeno cornmeal pancakes for a little spiciness at breakfast!

Lunch: Bufalina Austin

Start the meal with olives and nuts, salads, an antipasti plate of meat and cheese, and a variety of other choices. The restaurant is famous for its specialty pizzas, including the vodka arrabiatta, a pie topped with vodka sauce, fontina, mozzarella, garlic, oregano, Parmesan, chili flake, and black pepper. If you want what you know, there are more popular offerings like four cheese, Margherita, and others.

Dinner: Olamaie Austin

The seasonal menu changes daily, so no two visits will ever be the same. Offerings have included smoked cabbage, Gulf Crudo, and other starters.
