Book our Houston Rentals Here!

Space Center Houston

Look up into the night sky and all the stars. Light from those stars in the sky may represent galaxies we can only dream of reaching. The center features a variety of permanent and rotating exhibits, including interactive exhibits to explore this Thanksgiving.

You’ll see more than 400 space artifacts, exhibits, experiences, theaters, and more that depict our country’s journey to the stars. The center also boasts the world’s largest collection of moon rocks and lunar samples available for public view!

Downtown Aquarium

See animals, reptiles, amphibians, and fish from across the globe. There are a variety of exhibits to explore, including one that highlights the Texas Bayou! See alligators, turtles, bullfrogs, and other residents of the area’s marshes, bayous, and the Texas Gulf Coast in the exhibit.

Travel the rain forests of the world or go below the water into the shipwreck of a 17th century Spanish galleon for a look at coral reefs, Pacific octopus, moray eels, and others. Explore the discovery zone with multiple interactive displays, a sunken temple, and the Tigers of the Maharaja’s Temple.

Breweries & Distilleries

Houston hosts several breweries and distilleries making unique blends of IPAs, ales, lagers, and more. Grab something to eat and wash it down with brews from companies like Saint Arnold Brewing Company, Karbach Brewing, Spindeltap Brewery, and many more. You may even be able to buy some to bring back to your rental to enjoy with the Thanksgiving feast or another meal.

Shopping

You’ll undoubtedly pick up some fun souvenirs during your Houston Thanksgiving activities, but there are plenty of opportunities for shopping. There are a number of malls, like The Galleria, Memorial City, and Willowbrook Mall. For high-end shopping, visit the River Oaks District.

Don’t miss a unique opportunity to shop underground: The Houston tunnel system was originally built in the 1930s as a link between two prominent movie theaters, but today it’s a seven-mile system spanning 95 city blocks packed with shopping, dining, activities, and more.

Dining

If you hear your stomach rumble during all your Houston fun, or would rather skip preparing the Thanksgiving feast yourself, there are plenty of delicious restaurants to choose from. These restaurants serve up Tex-Mex, Mexican, Italian, Asian Fusion, American fare, and more. Enjoy delicious BBQ at Truth BBQ, join The Breakfast Klub for traditional American breakfast fare, or take your taste buds on a trip to Vietnam at Xin Chao. Select restaurants will be offering the Thanksgiving feast. Contact your favorite to ask about reservations.

Children’s Museum Houston

The 90,000 square foot facility is packed with kid-friendly fun. Children up to age two can enjoy the “Tot*Spot” full of age-appropriate fun. Older children can visit the EcoStation and learn about Texas native plants, solar power, woodlands, and more.

Learn about water, matter, chemistry, physics, and other fascinating topics. Burn off energy in PowerPlay and explore the topics of health, nutrition, and exercise. Head to the Maker Annex to make something truly creative or mellow out for a bit in the branch of the Houston Public Library located inside the museum.

Indoor Skydiving

Feel what it’s like to be suspended in the air after jumping from a plane, without jumping out of a plane this Thanksgiving. Participants wear a flight suit over their regular clothes, as well as a helmet and safety goggles. To prepare, make sure to tie your shoes tight, wear casual and comfortable clothes, and make sure your hair can be put up completely in the helmet.

It’s just like skydiving, so jewelry and accessories, anything in your pockets, loose clothing, and open-toed/sandal shoes are not recommended. Book online and arrive early for orientation and to sign a waiver. Participants must be at least three years old. People over 300 pounds, or who may be or are pregnant or have other physical limitations are not recommended to fly.
